We are seeking a fractional Business Development leader to support our next phase of growth.
Role Summary
This is a strategic role that will work closely with VSTI leadership on shaping VSTI’s market positioning, strengthening an existing pipeline and partner network, and enhancing our ability to win through intentional teaming. The role is designed to both drive near-term growth and build internal BD capability for the long term.
This is a hands-on, build-with-us role. You won’t just advise; you’ll open doors, make introductions, represent VSTI in the market, and engage early in capture to shape how we’re positioned. You’ll work directly with firm leadership. This is a true partnership, not a solo role.
Key Responsibilities
- Refine and reinforce VSTI’s positioning across priority opportunities and partners
- Strengthen and refine an existing pipeline, ensuring alignment to core strengths
- Expand and strengthen a growing network of teaming partners
- Engage early in capture to influence solutioning and partner alignment
- Represent VSTI externally, including making introductions to industry and government leaders
- Translate capabilities into clear, differentiated value for buyers and partners
- Guide the development of repeatable BD processes, tools, and internal capabilities

- Balance disciplined opportunity selection with the need to generate and progress qualified opportunities

Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in GovCon business development and capture
- Experience supporting growth in small or emerging firms
- Strong network and ability to generate and advance opportunities through relationships
- Ability to position differentiated capabilities beyond staff augmentation
- Track record of influencing early capture and shaping winning solutions
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, build-as-you-go environment
